FEATURE FRIDAY 〰️

Welcome to the first edition of Feature Friday! I meet so many cool creators in the s3x worker community and now ya’ll can get to know them too!

My first interview is with SIA who had me on her podcast, Stripped by SIA, earlier this year. You can check out my interview here!

I’m dying to talk about your youtube channel, SIA Slurps, where you make Ramen recipes and review noodles. First off, you’re adorable. Secondly, tell me about your passion for noodles. What convinced you to start videoing your noodle experience?

AH! I’m so excited to talk about this! Yes, noodles are my not-so-secret addiction. I’m a total food nerd in general but I spent most of my childhood growing up and slurpin’ down bowls of noodles. There’s just something so satisfying about a bowl of carbs, you know?

In regards to documenting my noodle experience, it was honestly all thanks to the pandemic. After losing all of my jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic, I had so much free time all of a sudden. I had always wanted to start up a YouTube channel before but never had the time and I didn’t know how to edit videos so with the time that I was being granted, I purchased Final Cut Pro X and taught myself how to video edit! I watched a lot of YouTube videos and started my YouTube channel shortly after that. It was a crazy idea starting a channel initially just to rate instant noodles but 1300 fans and subscribers later, I know I’m not completely crazy and alone in this addiction!

You spend quite a bit of your energy around educating others - especially in regards to s3x work. I’m sure that’s pretty mentally draining. How do you balance your desire to de-stigmatize s3x work while taking care of your own well-being?

It’s such important work to do so it doesn’t feel that draining. However, some episodes and content can be quite sensitive and triggering so I try and balance those out with lighter episodes in between as it can be heavy for my listeners so finding that sweet spot is completely necessary.

Self-care is something I still struggle with. As a self-proclaimed workaholic juggling multiple projects and gigs in different fields and industries, it can be so challenging to allow myself to take a break or a day off. I would say that I am better at establishing my boundaries this year which I do by dedicating deliberate blocks of time to specific pieces of work or clients, having clear cut off times for work and actually sticking to them, and allowing myself to relax on a daily basis. My daily self-care is as simple as cooking myself a good meal and to set aside time for that and sinking into my couch watching some trashy reality TV on Netflix to decompress. On other days where I am afforded more time, it might look like doing my nails, treating myself out to a good glass of wine, or traveling. There is rarely a day I ever do “nothing”. However, my audience has been really grateful for the resources and episodes that I put out every week and are stoked when they see a personal message from me saying I had to take a day off or cancel an interview (although rare!) to take care of myself first. It’s still a struggle for me but at least I’m trying!

You’re on 0nlyfanz and you’re a dancer as well. What’s your go-to format, do you prefer online work or in person?

Honestly, I thought I would prefer online but being shoved into this landscape for the past couple years has made it exhausting that I actually prefer in-person work, specifically dancing. If I had a larger audience on my 0nlyfanz that might be a different story but I really missed the performative, real-time reaction and interaction with the audience. I find in-person work to be much more engaging for me, personally, and yes, you can get a similar feeling with camming or live sessions (which I love), but the cheers, the hoots and the hollering and the overall engagement just can’t be replaced with an online element. I do, however, enjoy my online fans and how you can schedule everything in. It’s very convenient that way and with a busy schedule, it’s easy to just “set it and forget it”. People do forget about the administrative aspect of online work which to me, can be a hassle, since the last thing I want to do is be behind my Macbook when I’m already on it most of the day!

Fast forward to age 40. You’re having a pretty typical day and you’re enjoying life. Where are you at and what are you doing?

That’s coming up sooner than I thought! Working remotely on vacation, watching over my kids with a glass of wine and my future husband and soaking up the sun

For all our vanilla readers, what do you wish they would know about s3x work (or just life in general)?

How we are all human. Literally. It’s as simple as that. We pay our taxes, we have partners to go home to, we have bills to pay, we have feelings. I think people often forget that and throw us into a novelty category when we simply need to be humanized. SW is not everything you hear in the media. Listen to us and hear our stories and maybe you will leave with a better understanding of our work and who we are.

For our spicy readers, if you could give them any advice, what would you say to them?

Do your research. There are so many resources out there nowadays with blogs, Reddit, YouTube, podcasts (like mine!), Discord, Telegram and Facebook groups. There are many different avenues and niches when it comes to SW and there is a certain degree of responsibility that comes with choosing to be in this industry. Be smart and be safe about the work that you are engaging or wanting to participate in. There are still many predatory people in and around our industry (not just clients but actual models, performers, photographers and production companies) that may not have your best interest at heart. Ask questions, be aware and work smarter, not harder.

And probably the most important question. You’re ordering ice-cream that comes with unlimited toppings. Whatcha getting on there?

Bits of cheesecake, bits of waffle cone, honey comb, yuzu marmalade.

…I had to physically reply to this because, DUDE WHAT, that sounds amazing!!! * runs to grocery store *
