A Scoop of Vanilla
Thanks for your interest in being interviewed on A Scoop of Vanilla!
The scoop: Each episode is hosted by me, Lindsey Swanson CFP®. I interview a variety of people, with no specific qualifications* except that:
1) I convince you to be interviewed.
2) You don’t mind me swearing during our chat.
*While this series is sponsored by my business, Stripper Financial Planning, you do not need to be associated with the adult entertainment industry (and most guests aren’t) to be a guest on the show. We can definitely clarify that you are not involved in the industry at all, if that’s a concern. :)
Some background: I started this video series to share honest discussions with real people – not a sales pitch of our best selves, but a snapshot from different perspectives. The name, A Scoop of Vanilla, is a play on the fact that I, despite working with stigmatized groups, am aggressively normal and vanilla. While the interviews tend to all tie back to the topic of money, the focus is open conversations about topics that challenge & change us. I will routinely share these interviews with my audience on social media, specifically through my brand Stripper Financial Planning. You are always encouraged and welcome to share the interviews with your platforms as well.
Interview topics: My main goal is to share something impactful from your life & experience, so I don’t want to interview you about something that isn’t interesting to you! We could talk about budgeting, behavioral finance, investing, relationships, trauma, discrimination, your career, etc. If I’m approaching you for an interview, I’ll probably throw a couple topic ideas at you so you don’t have to think creatively – but I’d love if you already have a topic you’re passionate about that you want to discuss.
The format: Your commitment as a guest includes a few emails back and forth regarding the topic/questions and then an hour long Zoom call where we record the show. We’ll have 15 minutes to set up, 30 minutes of recording, and 15 minutes to wrap up. Prior to the show we’ll decide on a topic and I’ll provide the questions I’ll ask ahead of time so you can prepare. During the recording, I’ll start the show and introduce you as a guest. In each show, there will be a chance to share what you do for a living and most importantly we’ll also cover your favorite type of ice cream. At the end of the show, I’ll also leave time for you to plug any current projects you have going and share how people can follow you.
The small print: I want you to feel comfy, so if you want we can discuss an outline before we film. After I edit the footage, I will share the final version with you so that you can approve (or not) before it’s shared online. While I cannot realistically control who shares the video after it’s posted, I am always willing to remove the video from my platforms, if you request it be taken down in the future. Additionally, while I always intend to post all of the interviews I record, I make no promises that every interview recorded will be posted online. Guests on the show are not compensated financially. However, I will Venmo you money to buy icecream if you don’t currently have icecream and need icecream.
